To the Loon? Where else would you go in Ottawa for a good selection of Ontario craft beers that rotates regularly?iguenard wrote:WHY do you guys keep going there! Its napoleon syndrome!probstk wrote:I was at the Loon on Sat. The server was not told by Scotty that the cask had changed and thought they were still serving Broadhead Stoner Amber. She kept disappointing patrons and phone callers. Thankfully, Scotty came in and cleared it up. Rye Guy is a pretty nice beer.Ceecee wrote:According to their FB page, they'll have the Rye at BBB tonight, Wellington Gastropub tomorrow and Arrow & Loon Saturday.

Must have saw you there - was there around noon as well. Picked up a small growler of each and left quickly (was turning into a bit of a madhouse so figured I could sample at home). That being said I am curious if they suffered a bit from being put into the growlers as there was a definite lack of carbonation on two of them...they were also too cold though so will have to try again.Bytowner wrote:Okay I lied. Third person in at noon. Tried the Darkness and Rye Guy. RIPA is very nice, really fresh citrus hops. Not at all the malt base I was expecting, it's lost amid the hops, though the sample was a bit cool.
Picked up the ISG and Pink Fuzz for home. Was getting a bit crazy as I was leaving.

Bet you did. I was the bearded guy in the navy (kinda ratty) pea coat hanging out to the right of the counter.pushkinwow wrote:Must have saw you there - was there around noon as well. My thoughts exactly. As tasty as I found the ISG, the last third of my growler was a drain pour because it was so flat, it was making me a bit woozy. Ditto the pink fuzz, only low to moderate carbonation on the first pour.

Thanks for the heads-up. Had a great Rye Guy bomber from them last week. Man I hope they get more consistent.Kekumba wrote:Asked if they had any bombers this weekend and this is what they told me: "Beyond the Pale @BTPBrewing - Lots of beer, but no 22oz bombers today. The DarkERness will be avail next Sat exclusively in bombers. 10.2% imperial oatmeal stout"
Looks like I'll be stopping in next week then!
