Here's something that maybe some of the industry folks or homebrewer types may be able to shed some light on.
I have an old 20L keg that I got from a US brewery long ago (and isn't going back to them). Curbside garbage won't take it, and I tried taking it to the dump and they wouldn't take it either, saying that it's dangerous when the garbage is compressed or bulldozed over.
So I have a keg and don't know what to do with it. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Or is a brewer here that wants an old keg?

I was hoping you were referring to the contents. For that, I would have had a suggestion or two.

More seriously, perhaps a metal recycler?
Hey! I'll take that too. I have the right hardware to re-purpose it. Sanky, I assume, not euro?

Done! Yep it is a sankey. Emailed you!
Hang on a second. The Beer Store handles keg returns for local breweries. They might overlook the origin and give you a deposit back. If it's industry standard, it should not matter to them.
If that's too much hassle, I'll still happily take it off your hands.
