Basement Bar Finally Finished !

Post by guinness_guy »

Hello All:

Mostly been lurking, but wanted to pass along really great news.

After over 6 months of work in our new house,
and finally saving enough money to finish it,
our basement bar " the severed arms" is finally finished :D

Here are some pics :

Picture of original basement taken before we bought the house,
taken during our first look with the realtor.
I'm glad I took it, because it's the only picture I have
of the "before" look
:D

The Bar completed :D

I've been collecting glasses from around the world for 5+ years now,
and friends brought me back some during their trips to
Belgium and Amsterdam...
I picked all the Unibroue's up during a trip to Montreal...

I've also been collecting coasters for about 10 years now and have amassed over 1000 :o

nice work guinness guy

By the way, equiping the bar with tap handles do not require a wet bar. You only need a regrigerator big enough to fit a keg and fit under the bar. A good healthy homebrewing hobby would go a long way to ensuring the final touches of putting in a kegging system.

Enjoy the new digs.

P.S. Is that a Schneider Weisse glass on the top shelf? If so, can I inquire as to where you got it?

Andicus,

You can get Schneider Weisse glasses at almost any German restaurant - just agree that you'll pay after "breaking" one... at least, the Kingston "Amadeus Cafe" will do this.

guinness guy, you have good friends!

DukeOfYork, thanks for the tip! Now I just have to find a German restaurant. Maybe not an easy task in St. Catharines. :(

What??? I thought there were German restaurants all over Waterloo! Didn't the place used to be called "New Berlin"?

Very nice establishment. One day, I've promised myself the same.
