This seems very similar to the stout that Keith's had issued on draft. It is fairly light in flavour and ABV (4.1% ABV). It reminds me of Guinness. My palate prefers something a little more flavourful. I blended Southern Tier Porter (very nice on its own) 50/50 and found the blend just right to accompany dinner.

Alexander Keith's Dark Ale

That would be because it's the same beer. They rebranded their so-called "Stags Head Stout" as Keith's Dark Ale recently.G.M. Gillman wrote:This seems very similar to the stout that Keith's had issued on draft.
I tried the stout on tap at Pepperjacks in Sarnia because it was the most promising beer in the selection of McBrews that were available. It was the most unusually tasteless stout/porter that I have ever had (granted it was served too cold which didn't help matters). There was nothing "wrong" with it per se - it was just bland and soul-less. The sorry end-product of trying to please the masses I suppose.
