I couldn't find any history so I'll ask.
Any good ideas for craft beer /lunch in Barrie (and along the way to Dorset)?
We are headed up tomorrow for thanksgving and want to grab lunch somewhere new. We have enjoy Pie http://www.eatmypie.ca in the past but are looking for a change.

We are in Bracebridge Sat night and will clearly darken the door of the Griffin but need a Sat. lunch spot?
thx

Depending on how you get into Dorset the Lake of Bays brewery is right on the road off of 11. Very nice brewery and you may hit them during a tour time.

I visited this summer. They have a ton of swag and decent beer. The brewery itself is VERY nice and obviously well-funded. ;)

You may want to try The Local on dunlop street. Great little gastro pub, everything made in house and all ontario craft on tap. Its about three blocks west of the flying monkeys brewery.

+1

The Local Gastropub is the closest thing to a craft beer bar in Barrie.

I would say that PIE is probably the 2nd best craft beer destination in the city. And the pizza is outstanding.

That's the way she goes. Sometimes she goes, sometimes it doesn't. She didn't go. That's the way she goes.

Reporting back.
Had a great lunch, Smashbomb and Mad Tom fresh and in great shape.
Food was excellent - Mac & Cheese and a Baked Ceasar Salad. Sticky toffee pudding done well in a traditional way.
Service was great and we even got a chance to say hello to Scott.

Highly recommend! When we are back in Barrie, we'll be back...
Thanks for the suggestion.
