Just wondering if I'm going to meet any of you this Thursday. The event seems to be a great way for homebrewers to taste other brewers' wares.
some of the Brauhaus info is here: http://brauhausto.tumblr.com/
the gist: 4 homebrewers are featured. Brauhaus members get to try 2 beer from each home brewer and talk about beer and stuff. some neat things are being done. i'm hoping my 2 beer don't disappoint (read: suck)

Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

that's the biggest complaint i've had from ppl who heard about it.icemachine wrote:I didn't get whether this was an open or closed club, and couldn't find any contact point. Maybe it's because I don't use tumblr and am missing something?
its a private club (that way, home-brewed beer can be served legally, i believe). not sure how you get in or get membership.
the best way to contact them would be via twitter, i think.
Hey all,
Thanks for your interest in Brauhaus. Here's what we're all about:
Brauhaus was dreamed up by a Toronto beer club made up of five beer lovers, writers, and home brewers who met in a beer class over a year ago. We are Doug Appledoorn, Crystal Luxmore, Carlos Santos and Scott and Nicole Stewart. We love drinking beer — and exploring new styles — and we believe that some of the most exciting new styles in Ontario are being brewed on people's backyards and stovetops.
There hasn't been a great way to share home brew with the public, until now — that's what Brauhaus is all about — sharing wonderful, inventive, (and yes, even really beginner) home brews widely. Think of us as Toronto's Underground Market, but for beer. We're keen to help home brewers get feedback on their creations from drinkers and brewers, so we'll be inviting one guest pro-brewer to each event.
Tonight is our first event, and we wanted to do a "soft launch" for about 50 friends and family guests to test the concept and make sure we're ready to open it up to more imbibers next time.
Our next event is in February — memberships (which entitle you to attend the event) will be available for anyone who signs up on our guest list on a first-come, first-serve basis.
As well, we're looking for new home brewers to feature — if you are interested in participating please send us a quick bio by email and we'll reach out before our next event to let you know what's up.
Get in touch! BrauHausTO@gmail.com
Cheers,
The Legendary Beer Club
