Scarborough pubs/restaurants that are kids team friendly?

Post by rejtable »

Hey all, not sure if this should be in this forum, or the good pub one. I'm going to be in Scarborough the weekend of Feb 15-16 for a kids hockey tournament. Anyone know of some decent eateries that would welcome a very large group (could be 50 ppl if everyone attends) for dinner?

Our hotel is at Kennedy/401, but the games are around Kingston/Lawrence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am sure there is a Shoeless Joe's around there but I would recommend "The Black Dog" -- not very craft beer friendly ... but pretty big space and very much a pub. They are located near 401 - close to where you are staying...

I recall the Stone Cottage Pub on Kingston Rd. was half decent and family friendly. I don't think the taps were all that great though.

Actually the Stone Cottage Pub has a fairly decent selection, at least the last time I went there (Erdinger Dunkel, Mill St Tankhouse, etc etc)

Thanks all! While I'd prefer good taps, I'm more worried about a place that will take reservations for large groups.

Keep 'em coming, I'm sending them to our team manager to investigate.

I always heard good things about The Black Dog when I used to live in Scarborough.

I went to the Stone Cottage with a couple volleyball teams after a tournament at Scarborough College. They easily accommodated us and some of the player's kids. If the beer is better, as stated, then I recommend it. I recall enjoying the food.
