Opening Beer by Sabrage

Has anyone got any experience sabering cork finished beer? I'm getting married in the Fall and thought I might open some magnums of beer with panache. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I feel like champagne is under higher pressure. Not really sure though, why not try it before your wedding?

I think @starbeer was at a wedding where they did champagne. He may or may not be able to offer some advice.

For those of us who perhaps live more sheltered lives, when you say "by sabrage" do you mean opening beer with a large sword? That would certainly require some panache!

Well you can do it with a butter knife, but it's not as impressive

Actually I think that would be MORE impressive!

Personally I'd be paranoid about glass shards.

I will definitely practice before hand. I will also pour the first beer through cheese cloth. I am getting an old bayonet to do the sabering. I'll let you know how it goes.
