Any one out there have any good tips for moving a large quantity of beer glasses across the country in terms of packing?
My wife and I are moving our apartment belongings from Calgary to Hamilton in June. I've got about 200 beer glasses to move with the rest of our junk. I moved approximately 140 beer glasses from Hamilton to Calgary 3 years ago, packing them in LCBO boxes with dividers in them. However, that may not have been the best, as while the glasses were secure, there were a ton of small boxes that were difficult to arrange into larger boxes for later packing. A bit of a hassle over all.
Any one out there develop a good system for packing/moving beer glasses. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers!

Thanks for the advice. Packing up glasses right now. Did away with dividers and fitting them in much like a jigsaw, just like you said. Tring to get most of them upright or upside down so any force is distributed down their long-axis, with some of the more robust glasses on their sides to fill in gaps. Lots of packing inbetween.El Pinguino wrote:I currently have 100+ glasses packed up in moving boxes and 'office paper' boxes. I simply wrap them in newspaper and pack them in tight to the top.
No dividers or junk like that...just pack them in like a jigsaw puzzle, mostly lying on their sides....I never had trouble this way.

I used good, thick quality packing boxes, and plenty of packing paper (about 4 layers around each glass), along with bubble wrap around the the inside edge of the box. Definitely lay the glasses horizontally. I packed around 100+ glasses, boxes went from Toronto to Edmonton and not a single glass broke, but that all depends on the company you use, too.
