I recently came across an unopened stubby (so late 1960s/early 1970s) bottle of this:

(Foam is from recent moving and has settled since taking the picture).

What do you folks think? Worth trying, more interesting to save as is? It's been in a fairly cold antique shop's storage area for many years and before that, I'm told, a local (Newfoundland) brewer's cellar (sold when he passed), so it's not been a display piece or exposed to lots of sunlight. I'd expect it to be quite oxidized, but it's lost little of its volume, which I take to be a good thing... So... drink it? (Kinda interested in Mr. Gillman's opinion, in particular.)

Worth trying for the novelty?

I drank 2 bottles of this back in 2009:

I exchanged emails with Ron Pattison, who pegged the age at post-WWII, but pre 1959. It was delicious.

Thinking back to my rule of thumb as a child: If you find it under the kitchen sink, drink it!

Seriously, if it was stored as well as you've been told, I bet it will be a treat. If it's awful, it won't get any better with more age.
