Where is it available in bottles? Just at the brewery?

If you want to try the cask version it is on the handpump at the Blue Meaney. I went there yesterday and had a few pints and found it in perfect condtion. Gail and Kerion told me they go through a firkin in 2-3 days which is perfect for keeping the ale fresh tasting.

Matt, Ken and Jeremy have done it again! This year's Nutcraker is phenomenal. Too bad I can't find it in Ottawa. I'll have to drink it/pick some up on my bi-weekly trips to Toronto.

I had the Nutcracker Cask Ale/Handpump at the Meanie a few days ago (Monday). Fresh cask was just put on as I arrived, and all I have to say is "wow". Matt + Matt were saying it would be gone by Wednesday and to be replaced by Durham XXX at that time

This of course meant I called a few friends on over and we attempted to put a bit of dent in it.

Ken: This stuff was great! When is the next Cask Ale coming out?

I agree - Had a pint at C'est What? on Tuesday, really enjoyed it! Nice and dark, balanced with complex flavors...

Hi Everyone
Mathew, Jeremy and myself are really greatful for the feedback about our Christmas Nutcracker.
It's been doing well in the pubs (C'est What, Cafe Volo, Winking Judge, The Bow & Arrow, Both Rebel & Rebel Chop houses (Homes?)).
We've still got some bottled product available if anyone wants. Call the brewery at 905-339-1037 or shoot me an email at kenwoods@blackoakbeer.com I can deliver to just about anywhere in the GTA. or drop by the store in Oakville.
We are planning to do some more seasonal beers , so keep an eye peeled for future anouncements.
Cheers
Ken, Matthew & Jeremy

OOPS I forgot the Beer Bistro.
We did put two casks of Christmas Nutcracker into the Blue Meaney and it did very well.
Too well because I only got to have one pint from each cask, (I'm still grumbling on the inside about that!!!!!)
We'll work on some more cask beer but we only have two casks, so our production volume will not be stellar. (Our mantra is "Quality not Quantity" stated many times over and over)

Any requests for some cask conditioned Nut Brown? or possibly some cask Pale Ale?
We probably will do a few casks of each seasonal beer too.
Send me a note and let me know what you think.
(PS Publican I already know your opinion on Cask beer)
Cheers
Ken

BOB,
Keep up the good work fellas. I'm looking forward to enjoying some new and exciting brews and I will keep my eyes and ears open to that end. The Nutcracker on draught at The Judge is right spanky. I did notice a subtle difference in the prescence of the cinnamon between the tap and bottled versions, the tap version being more pronounced.

Slainte,
Jeff

Hi Ken,

I'd love to have the cask Pale Ale. IIRC, Matthew did a cask which was my favourite beer at the last Judge Fest.

If you can post where it'd be with a couple days advance notice, hopefully I'll be able to arrange to get some before it disappears.

Gotta back up the cask Pale Ale request. I think that you should do a trial cask and Matt should bring it up to the Fergus area (because he lives up this way) so as not to jade the drinking public in the GTA. Seems like a perfectly logical test program for any new product from Black Oak.

Is there still some avaiable? If so - when is the brewery open so I can pick some up? Also, what's the address - I checked the website (http://www.blackoakbeer.com/) but it seems to be dead.

Phone number is 905-339-1037 at the brewery. You should be able to get some most days 11-6. Not sure how much is left in the fridge though - it's a hot commodity.
