Your top 10 favourite/regular buys at lcbo/tbs
Just throwing this out there, to see if there are any gems that I may be overlooking. Not necessarily just Ontario stuff. So basically, just stuff that's readily available to most people...ie: not one-offs,stuff available from only the brewery etc.
For me, it's probably something like this....although I'm sure I'll forget something.
Cameron's RPA
Fullers London pride/ESB
Weinstephaner
Rhyme and Reason
Crazy Canuck
La Fin Du Monde
Dennison's Weissbeir
Creemore Alt
Brooklyn Lager
Chimay Blue

I find I don't purchase much anymore, and if I do its something quick and easy, generally consisting of
Jever
Headstock
Rhyme and Reason
Gin
Angry Orchard
Spirit Tree
The only other beers I get are usually seasonals that come in, and I usually only get them once, unless I really like it.

That was me 2-3 years ago, recent years ST seems to have off-flavors (just dirty and 'rot' flavors, not in a good earthy/bretty way like funky, complex Normandy ciders.)sofakingdrunk wrote:I see a lot of people are high on spirit tree...
Thornbury Cidery and West Avenue Cider have my palate's attention these days - good apple selection, apparently.
In particular West Avenue Gold Dust is a varietal cider (Golden Russet) and so very close to a really good white wine. There's potential! A lot of these Cideries are NKOTB and time may prove some of them consistent and innovative.

By far I mostly buy Tank Tens, other one offs and seasonal imports, but over the past few months:
a lot of Detour and Naughty Neighbour interchangably as session ales
and a few of
Rhyme
Headstock
Mad Tom
Red Racer
Urquel
Wellington RIS
and a Chimay Bleu and Rochefort 8 for a direct tasting comparison of two classic Belgian strongs

Pilsner is what I buy the most of. I usually either grab Pilsner Urquell or Bitburger but sometime buy Krombacher Pils or Wernesgrüner Pils
I also sometimes buy IPAs or APAs. I usually buy Mad Tom or Rhyme and Reason, but sometime buy Naughty Neighbor or Headstock. Id buy Canuck Pale weekly but it never comes to Cambridge.
In the winter I buy a lot of Fullers Porter and Sinha Stout.
I never buy bombers unless Im going to jprimes and need something to share.
I also buy Roch 8, 10, Chimay Blue, Orval when availible.
To properly answer the question Id say my top 10 looks like this:
1) Bitburger
2) Pilsner Urquell
3) Wernesgrüner Pils
4) Mad Tom
5) Rhyme and Reason
6) Fullers Porter
7) Krombacher Pils
8 ) Sinha Stout
9) Headstock
10) Chimay Blue

Red Racer
Boneshaker
Rhyme & Reason
Kissmeyer
Macleans (for my wife mainly)
I don't think I buy anything else enough to add to these.
