August 30, 2007Michael Jackson RIP
Known to many as "The Beer Hunter", Jackson was an extremely influential figure in the beer world, and he was instrumental in such movements as the revival of real ale in the UK during the 1970s, and the craft beer boom in North America that started in the 1980s and continues today. Mr. Jackson revealed last year that he had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for some time, but he remained active as a writer, speaker and tasting host until his death. His final column for All About Beer magazine has been posted to their website along with an online book of condolence, and beer bloggers and writers around the world have been posting their thoughts on his passing. He will be missed. Posted by Bar Towel News Editor at August 30, 2007 11:43 PM |
