September 19, 2007Toast to Michael Jackson at beerbistro
Here in Toronto, the first establishment to come on board for the event is beerbistro. Here is the official announcement for their contribution to the cause: Michael Jackson, the English writer who taught millions that beer is “a noble and complex drink”, died in London on August 30, 2007. If you know his writing, you’ll understand what a loss this is to the beer world. If you are now enjoying a range of diverse, beautifully-made beers, it is because of his life-work. Please come raise a glass to his memory, and raise funds for the National Parkinson Foundation, to help people who--as Michael did--live with Parkinson Disease. To raise even more money for the NPF, beerbistro is also raffling off a Private Tutored Beer Tasting for eight people, which will be hosted in the restaurant's back room by Stephen Beaumont. Tickets are $10 each, or three for $25, and may be purchased in person from beerbistro leading up to and during the event. The draw will take place following the Michael Jackson Memorial Toast at 9pm on September 30. Posted by Bar Towel News Editor at September 19, 2007 11:33 PM |
