Two New Beers from Amsterdam Brewery

Amsterdam Brewery has just released two new beers - one new year-round beer, and one special seasonal.

The new brew in their regular line-up is Big Wheel Deluxe Amber, which is described as "combining the boldness of a pale ale with the smoothness of an easy drinking lager". It's brewed with a blend of imported Pale and Crystal malts, and dry hopped with a blend of UK hops. Watch for it to soon start appearing on tap around town, and in 473 ml cans and 6x355 ml bottles at retail.

The seasonal brew is Amsterdam Strong Spring Bock, a limited run beer brewed by Amsterdam brewmaster Jamie Mistry using a recipe developed by homebrewer and Bar Towel regular Derek Hyde. The full story of this doppelbock-style beer can be read on the Bar Towel Forum, and the beer is available now at the brewery (21 Bathurst St. near Front St.).
