I.P.A. is brewed!
Scotch Irish Brewed its first I.P.A. last Wednesday. I have been sampling it out of the fermenter and it is excellent. If you like a beer with body, aroma and bitterness this is it. We used Chinook hops (lots and lots of 'em!)to give it a "Pacific Northwest" profile. It comes out at 5.5% alc and 68 I.B.U., with a whack of beautiful hops in the nose. We will be launching this ale, to be called the Sgt. Major's I.P.A., at the Winking Judge Beerfest on April 27. We will have both cask and filtered draught versions at that event. After the 27th, it will be available in the trade. I'm hoping that Smokeless will take a couple of kegs.

Perry, make sure you don't send any to the Duke of Somerset. I was in Ottawa when England destroyed Germany 5-1 in World Cup qualifying, and I couldn't get into the place even though I showed up early.
I had to sit upstairs with a bunch of Yugoslavians watching them play Switzerland (not, as they say, that there's anything wrong with that
)
Seriously though, the place seems like a Labatt's 50 type of place, and wouldn't know what to do with your terrific beers.

Perry,
VERY EXCITED that your IPA is nearly ready! I will be wandering around aimlessly till late April with a pint glass in hand waiting for a chance to sample some. I really hope S-Joe's agrees to carry a a few kegs. The Winking Judge is a fair trek for me especially since someone totalled my car recently in a hit and run.
But I digress...those details sound bang on; 68 IBU's, Chinook hops...really can't wait!
