Back on August 28th, I sent an email to the LCBO customer service department asking if they had a mailing list to provide info about thier seasonal beer releases and other beer-related promotions that they might offer.

I finally got a response from them TODAY telling me that no such mailing list exists. They also gave me a spiel telling me about the five-times-a-year schedule for the beer promotions, and a run down of beers in the current Winter Warmers promo. We've all seen the list before, but this one includes prices & descriptions so I thought I'd share it...

CSPC 408005 Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale 550 mL
$3.75
Brewed only once a year, this world-renowned English ale is full-bodied with
a creamy head and an abundance of malt and hop character.

CSPC 512756 Morocco Ale 500 mL
$2.95
A strong, dark and mysterious ale brewed from a secret recipe held for over
300 years. Full-bodied with spicy overtones, this beer is especially
enjoyable with spiced foods, cheese and cakes.

CSPC 527838 X.O. Beer 330 mL
$3.95
The combination of pure malt beer with 25-year-old cognac results in a rich,
smooth beer with complex, multi-layered flavours.

CSPC 890079 St. Peter's Winter Ale 500 mL
$3.50
This premium-quality, strong English ale boasts a superb balance of malt
sweetness and hop bitterness. Perfect for a cold winter evening.

CSPC 893974 Weltenburger Kloster Asam-Bock 500 mL
$2.25
This robust German beer is a typical strong, dark, doppelbock that was
traditionally brewed especially for the cooler winter months.

CSPC 907345 Jenlain Biere de Garde Ambree 330 mL
$2.15
Strong yet subtle, this beer is highly aromatic, with notes of dried fruits,
honey, brown spices and vanilla.

CSPC 926121 Paulaner Salvator 330 mL
$1.85
This bottom-fermented beer is rich, full and hearty, yet superbly balanced
with dark barley malt and aromatic hops. It is an ideal complement to red
meats and dark chocolate desserts.

CSPC 926139 Mahr's Brau Wheat Bock 500 mL
$2.95
Brewed only in the depths of winter, this specialty wheat beer is dark, rich
and enthralling. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized, emphasizing its robust
character and unique taste.

CSPC 926147 Leffe Brune 330 mL
$1.95
This abbey-style ale is full-bodied with a spicy flavour, and just a hint of
apple. Brewing with roasted malts results in a warm, deep brown colour.

I'm now going to reply to this email and ask for a list of all the beer gift packs being offered this year. Hopefully, I'll get a response before Christmas has come and gone.

I have had the Mahr's Wheat Bock. Very tasty. At the brewery, you can buy it in the funkiest 2.5l bottle I have ever seen.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to that one. I only recently discovered darker wheat beers such as Aventinus, and found them to be a perfect autumn beer for me as I really like wheat beers, but find blanches & wits to be a little too light and fruity for the cooler months. So I'm looking for more beers in this style.
