Anyone know when the new LCBO flagship store at Summerhill is due to open? Last I heard back in the summer was "late 2002".

As a second question: does anyone know when that giant looking LCBO is going to open in Leaside near the Best Buy?

Also FYI the new much larger LCBO being built at Dupont between Davenport and Spadina is due to open in a few weeks. December 8th I think.

Nope, December 2nd. Believe me, I'm counting the days till I have a giant LCBO at my doorstep.

I drove by the Dupont St. store the other day and I doubt it'll be open in time based upon what I saw of the interior.

I drove by the Laird Store on Tuesday. It has a banner on the front saying the Grand Opening is Monday November 18.

Dammit! If you've ever been to the current Dupont LCBO next door you'll understand my frustration.

Went to the Leaside LCBO yesterday on the way home from work.

Its easily one of the worst LCBOs for beer I've been into. For its size, thats really shameful.

Maybe it needs time to fully stock up, but I would have figured it would be stocked right out of the gate.

I agree about Leaside...I don't think I saw one of the winter releases there!!! Nice looking store...let's hope they get their act in gear.

Haven't been there yet but it's on the list, on our usual rounds - as agents.

Disheartening - though not surprising - to hear about the poor beer showing though. The LCBO generally considers beers, certainly low distribution specialty beers, pretty much as "second class citizens" as it just doesn't offer the same amount of gross margins per square foot blah blah blah ...

Thank heavens we have (SOME) wines and other products to keep us going ...
