Greg Clow has generously written a report on his recent trip to Waikiki and Honolulu, Hawaii. What a trip it must have been Greg - I wish I had work conferences there

Take a look here:

Thanks again Greg!

An adventure, yes, but not necessarily a vacation. I'm not complaining. I've got a great job with lots of benefits, not the least of which is ample vacation time. Nonetheless, a nice company sponsored trip every now and then would be nice. (Although you own the company, right Greg. So you had to fork out, I assume).

Joe.

I managed to swing a 2-week vacation (Well, 3-days were conference) to Greece on the company dime 2 years ago.

I'm hoping to get them to sign off on a conference in Barcelona this year, but I'm not optimistic

(PS: Greece sucks for Beer)

Nope. Stained Productions is just a part-time thing that Sheryl and I do on the side. The conference had to do with my day job, which is working as a Senior Systems Analyst for Cancer Care Ontario.

One of my tasks there is working on a massive study that is investigating genetic traits of Breast & Colon cancer which is funded by the US National Institute of Health. Most of the technical working group meetings up until now have been held at the study's data centre in Irvine, California (which is a wasteland of shopping malls and amusement parks). But since this one was a joint meeting of the technical folks and study co-ordinators, they had it somewhere a little more posh.
