Well, the LCBO finally entered the 21st century and put a new search utility on their website that doesn't completely suck!

While it still uses a few strange sub-catagories like "Non. U.S. Beer" and "Oop Beer", it now features Product Name/Keyword search that seems to work properly, and is also tied in to their central inventory system to show you which stores have the item in stock, and in what quantity.

Whether or not that inventory info is correct could be questionable, though. For example, I found about half of the items from the upcoming Spring beer release in the database, all of them with 0 inventory at all of the stores - but the St. Peter's Lemon & Ginger which isn't due until the Summer release is listed as being in stock at Summerhill, Cooper St. and a couple of other locations. Seems strange to me, unless it's left over from last year?

Anyway, hopefully any bugs that might be in there will be worked out, and this tool will actually prove to be useful when tracking down those elusive items that end up in little stores that are off the beaten path.

Oh my. I guess I'm due for a trip to Summerhill then.

(Yeah, I actually like the stuff...)
