Anyone hankering for some fine Scottish Ale can pop into beerbistro, Smokeless or La Palette and get a fresh bottle of Traquair House Ale which has recently been delivered.

Jacobite is still hung up in the LCBO lab because of alcohol content labelling variance. We hope to have it available late next week. Anyone who reserved either the Traquair House and Jacobite will be contacted then. We do have some extra of both available so anyone who didn't reserve can do so now...esprit@primus.ca

Cafe Volo listed both on their menu this week, although none were in stock.

If anyone picks up a case of either of these I would be pleased to take a bottle of each of your hands.

The Jacobite Ale is now available in addition to the Traquair House Ale. House is $84.00 per case and Jacobite is $86.40 (24 x 330ml). Here are some reviews of these brews from the World Beer Championships:

Traquair House Brewery Traquair Jacobite Ale.
Very dark black-brown hue. Rich aromas have an anise and chocolate character that follow through on a smooth and creamy full-bodied palate with chewy malt flavors and exotic spice notes lingering on the finish. A potent, warming, and thoroughly original beer.
WORLD BEER CHAMPIONSHIPS AWARD: Platinum Medal
RATED: 97 points (Superlative)
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 8%
CATEGORY: Strong Ale
TASTING LOCATION: Our Chicago Tasting Room
TASTING DATE: 2/1/2003

Traquair House Brewery Traquair House Ale.
Dark mahogany hue. Sweet malty aromas follow through on a rich, full-bodied palate with opulent malt flavors that finish with a delicate hop accent. This beer masks it considerable potency.

ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 7.2%
CATEGORY: Barley Wine
