I will be in the Chicago area (and points west) next week. Aside from Goose Island and Rock Bottom, can anyone recomend any good brewpubs and good beer bars (or warn against any bad ones!).

Bars: Map Room

Breweries: Look for Two Brothers - they're a local outfit and I'm liking what I see from them to date.

Second the MapRoom recommendation. Its a little hole-in-the-wall, College pool-hall type place, with 30 incredible taps

Dont forget to stop by a Binny's liquor store before you leave. Very good beer selection.

Clark's Alehouse is a great bar too. Many micros on tap and good atmosphere. Look for the big "Stop and Drink" sign outside.

Thanks for the info!
I have heard some references to Clark's before. That will definitely be a good stop. Perry-is it hard to find and is ther parking in the area?
I will be staying Outside of Chicago for most of the time - not too far from Two Brothers so I plan on picking up something from them. If only I can figure out a way to bring a few cases of beer back on the plane!

p.s. Perry- looking forward to seeing you at the Judge on Saturday and trying your IPA.
