Whoa, anyone see Chex news last night? There was a story about KLB filing for chapter 11.

Any insider information here? There beers I support and I heard Andrew the owner do some jazz nights on Jazz Fm.

This is sad indeed. Hopefully the Beers and their quality will stay as they do a financial shuffle.

My dad told me last evening while we were drinking a pale ale. I hope everything turns out for the best. My girlfriend and I started drinking the Raspberry wheat three years ago. I have alot of great memories of her and that wheat beer. We are still routing for your KLB!

I heard about this yesterday since I was visiting my accounts in Peterborough. There were alot of long faces in the Kawarthas thats sure. I only hope it was these same people that walked out with a 12-pack of KLB as opposed to the Molson stuff they always consumed. You can't find many taps in Peterborough that support their local brewery. There are so many great people that work for this brewery and their beers are great. (Pale ale being my favourite). I know alot about this brewery since Andrew Cousins gave me my first shot at a sales position. Infact I was their first ever rep. I wish KLB all the success in the world. Message to KLB, Keep producing beer guys since I'm ordering 4 cases of Pale and 4 cases of Raspberry wheat for my wedding in London, ONt. Take care Claude.

Hey, can anyone from Bar Towel come to your wedding?

I do love me some of that pale. This is really sad, when a good micro goes down. I think we should have a micro week-end, were everyone on this site buys 1 micro product. I've been drinking a ton of imports lately. Maybe it's time to get back to supporting the local industry.

I sent an email to Andrew Cousins (President & CEO) of KLB today to find out what's going on.

Here's his reply...

"It does appear bad from the outside, but we are just doing a restructuring of the balance sheet. It's tied in with many positive things, none of which I am able to talk about. But I am not worried. I put the compnay in protection a few weeks ago to take care of some back taxes. As you know, taxes in this game are nuts, and many small brewers are unable to be profitable becuase of the taxes. It's a sad story for all of us, and government will do nothing. We will go on one way or another. we have had healthy growth every yesr, and that cannot be said for every small brewer. We are brand strong, which always helps in thses things. On the other side we will be bigger and stronger. So it looks good right now.

Thanks for the concern Dan, and I will keep in touch.

all the best

Andrew "

So you can all rest at ease and cancel your U-Haul rentals as there should be an abundant supply of KLB for the next little while anyway.

But do make it a point to purchase KLB on your next beer shopping trip to support them!

Cheers!
