I was flipping channels on the tube tonight and saw something to do with a pub on Rogers Cable 10. I stopped, and it ended up being a show called Toronto Dining that I've seen a couple of times before. They visit 3 or 4 local restaurants each week, talk to the owner, and then join the chef in the kitchen where they prepare one or two of the restaurant's signature dishes.

Anyway, this edition seemed to be focussed on bars & pubs that also serve good food, including P.J. O'Brien's, The Irish Embassy, and the Bier Markt.

As part of the footage for the Markt, they had a couple of shots of the tap handles, and there was a tight shot of a Scotch Irish tap handle (Sgt. Major's, I think) for a good 5 seconds or so. I don't know if it'll translate to many more Scotch Irish customers, but it was still neat to see.

(The dish featured during the Bier Markt segment, for those who might be wondering, was mussels cooked with Hoegaarden.)

Ya! Free advertising! It's the only kind I can afford. Thanks for the heads-up Greg.
