Great write up Mike! It is so awesome London has its premium craft beer location back. You should also mention that one of the chefs from Gambrinus is now working at Milos' Beer Emporium and the new menu is pretty great. I highly recommend the smoked tomato and red ale soup. I could eat the braised ...

In my opinion privatization works well if you have good healthy competition. If only a couple of large companies control a market, it helps having the government involved to help the smaller players. At this point I would be concerned if the LCBO disappeared and it was left up to private companies t...

Re: Milos' Craft Beer Comeback @ Gigs - June 2nd, 4:30pm
Come celebrate with Milos, Adil, and crew as they launch London's official craft beer emporium. The bar is retaining the "Gigs" banner for the time being, but will soon have a new name. Doors open at 4:30pm. Feel free to invite all of your friends. Cheers! https://www.facebook.com/events/...

That Brew Dog Punk IPA should stay on the other side of the pond. It's hops and soapy bath water mixed with a terrible looking can. What were they thinking?! Has anyone else tried this? I was looking forward to trying some, and the reviews on RB seem to be mostly positive. Hopefully it's not an inf...

There's really nothing wrong with a well made, but uninteresting beer. That's a craft too and there are beer drinkers who like a basic beer. I'm not on board with misleading labels, but I wouldn't criticize a brewery for chasing that customer. Look at Steamwhistle or even some of Mill Street's port...

Interesting to see what comes of this. Brick's current CEO (George Croft) was president of OSBC (Oland Specialty Beer Company), a division of Labatt back when they were trying to keep their so called premium brands like Keiths separate. Labatt killed this division after the Interbrew/Ambev merger to...

That is very sad to see the new owners didn't want Milos keeping in touch that way, it's not like the new people are using the Gambrinus name. It seems petty to me. Anyways, here's a piece from Metro I didn't see posted before (at least in this thread), it's mostly an interview with the new owner. ...
