43691 Oud Geuze Vieille 375
2017: $8.95
2025: $10.95
With inflation and greedflation seemingly always escalating, it's nice to see some stability. Yes, a crude and inaccurate measure, but general inflation would put this beer at around $11.25 in today's dollars.

Re: Beer & Brewing Critiques & Pet Peeves
Oh, I'm also annoyed by how kettle sours pretty much completely took over the sours market and pushed out all the much better (IMO) traditional sour styles. I was just reading today that wit beers like Hoegarden (sp) of the mid 20th century were brewed completely differently and tasted much differe...

Re: San Francisco
Rumour has it that some crypto bro is in the processes of buying Toronado. Tangential, but I wonder if more money from places like this will flow into the industry. Tangential still, there is a brewery in Alberta that makes a lot of fancy beer. Blind Enthusiasm is in Edmonton and says it ships natio...

I don't fully understand the LCBO's practices, but I think we might also have the following available.
44317 Oude Kriek Vieille (Oud Beersel)
44314 Andechser Weissbier Hell
43780 Innis & Gunn Canadian Cherrywood Red Ale

First time release of club bottles to the public. I never got a chance to join the club, so it's nice to be able to try some one offs. Some stuff was sold out when I checked pretty early into the sale.

Re: beer (alcohol) and health
I won't make any major health claims, but I think fibre is something that lots of people would benefit from increasing in their diets. Coffee is not a high fibre item, but it has some, and makes up an unfortunately significant part of some people's total. Coffee, of course, also has its own health i...

Re: LCBO & the Trade Wars
I hope so, but I think Quebec is most likely to maintain the current system.
I believe they only started home delivery from bottle shops fairly recently. I think a lot of breweries only allow pickup.

Re: LCBO & the Trade Wars
Replace them with Canadian "imported shelf talkers". Help. Not sure what you mean. The LCBO treats beer from other provinces as imported. When I added upcoming stuff I separated provinces and countries. If American stuff is not on shelves, that leaves more space (hopefully) for domestic p...

3F's oude geuze is finally rolling out to stores. To my great surprise, one of the first two stores listed is in the nice-beer desert of my former borough and current community council. The goal is to have single bottles available to those that don't want to buy a 6 or 12 pack. looking at 2-3 geuze...

Their fancy bottle subscription is up. It's $152.55 a month for 2 types x 3 bottles. Can't help but think a quarterly subscription for 6 unique bottles would be an easier buy-in.

Doug Ford should tease plans for a rolling aluminum plant to get Legault to spring into action. Quebec doesn't always need environmental reviews, so it shoud be quick.

Kensington is just brewing and retail last time I was there.S. St. Jeb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 5:08 pm I really like Burdock; love their "ducks" series.
The Bloor St location is nice; haven't been to the Kensington location.
