Maple Red Details

Greg,

George appreciates the compliment. Same sort of crystal malts, with different ratios. He used some traditional hops in the Maple Red, like fuggles, goldings, and magnum plus the super cascade centennial from the US.

Stonehammer Maple Red Ale

To anyone fortunate enough to try some, Stonehammer has released a new Maple Red Ale using local maple syrup. This American Style Red features challenger hops and is wet hopped using twenty litres of medium-grade maple syrup. Weighing in at around 5%, it results in a hoppy well-balanced ale super dr...

Rich had it on at the King Eddy in Ilderton. It is also on cask at C'est What. They should still have some left.

Alcohol Level in Stout

New news on the Stout. It didn't ferment down as much as George wanted it to so we end up with a stout right around the 5 percent mark. Gotta tell you, it's heaven in a glass. Look for it at Volo, C'est What, the Cloak and Dagger, Victory, and the Rebel House. If you live in Georgetown, the Shepherd...

Yes, still all Saaz. I find our pilsner very similar to a German Pils called "Radeberger". I know when Charles and Rob were working on it, they were going for the Pilsner Urquell type, but I think it is closer to Radeberger.

Stonehammer Pils

Queef wrote:I was very underwhelmed unfortunately.
What didn't you like about it? Was it off, are you more of a Czech style pils man, or ameri-pils? It definitely is not a brew for a committed ale drinker. Personally, I prefer the Dark Ale.

Rich at the King Eddy in Ilderton will most likely be taking a keg. I'll keep everybody posted.

Stonehammer Oatmeal Coffee Stout

That's right, Stonehammer is doing a seasonal! George is at it again, using coffee from Planet Bean right here in Guelph. Had my first taste today just out of the fermenter. Pretty yummy - can't wait to see what finishing and aging will do to this one. I'll keep everybody updated on where you can ex...

Windsor - Phog Lounge

There is one good place in Windsor for craft beer, and great music nightly. Check out Phog Lounge at University and Victoria. They have Wellington Arkell Best Bitter, SPA, and Imperial Stout along with Stonehammer Pilsner, Stonehammer Dark Ale, and Walkerville Lager on tap. Not really a restaurant, ...

Stonehammer Dark Ale on tap at the Local

Another chapter in the Stonehammer saga. The Local on Roncesvalles needed a tasty dark ale, so I answered the call. Look for the F&M kettle sign on Roncy just by Howard Park Ave.

Cheers,

The Mattman

Barrelhead Lager

Now on tap at two locations in Toronto - Barrelhead Draught. If anyone gets the chance to visit the Cloak and Dagger or Michelle's Beach House, try out this 4.2 percent lager made with pure German Pilsner Malt, and Hallertau Hops.

Call me for more details at 519-710-1196.

Cheers,

Matt

Most likely around 8pm or so. I'm heading down to the Finn before that.
