Patience sure is a virtue.
This is something that always panics me. On Thursday I ventured out in a snowstorm, and walked a hell of a ways to the LCBO at Jane and Dundas to pick up the Thomas Hardy's. Of course two days later there are dozens of bottles of it at my local store. My fears are always groundless.JesseM wrote:Yeah, but think of the people you might potentially be disappointing when they get to the LCBO and find no more John By is left. Not that this has happened to me, yet...
This is one I was really anticipating having with some Christmas cake.Gedge wrote:Looks like all of the winter release has made it to the shelves with the exception of the Harviestoun Old Engine Oil. Any word on when that one will make an appearance?
Dear god, please don't let that be the case. Engine Oil is one of the best beers I've ever had!Raptor2023 wrote:Every seasonal LCBO manages to screw up at least one beer. The Harviestoun might be that beer this time.
Well it's the LCBO - being very good at business isn't really their field.Raptor2023 wrote:Every seasonal LCBO manages to screw up at least one beer. The Harviestoun might be that beer this time.
Appreciate the comment Peter - no not anger, just laughter here - it happens SO often and it ONLY happens with beer, I mean if Vintages did that every time there was a Big Wine Release * wow * the outraged citizens would rally with torches & pitchforks... so I wonder why wine is so much better-handled.?!?! They always get those exact details correct and that's the proper way to do business - #1, you NEVER f--- with your customers' expectations.esprit wrote:
Post a comment to the agent invovled and ask them whether they or the supplier screwed up before you direct your anger at the LCBOl I've screwed up many times and will admit it....
hahahahaha hohohohoh hahahha. oh man, that's the best laugh i've had in ages. you think it only happens with beer? hahahaha. please, make it stop, my sides ache from laughing so much. seriously though -- it's not just beer that it happens with.Belgian wrote:

Actually, I've seen lots of Vintages wines not get released when they're scheduled to - it seems to happen to me every few releases (and that's only on the wines I'm interested in). My guess is that a couple of wines from each bi-weekly release don't show up when they're supposed to.Belgian wrote:Appreciate the comment Peter - no not anger, just laughter here - it happens SO often and it ONLY happens with beer, I mean if Vintages did that every time there was a Big Wine Release * wow * the outraged citizens would rally with torches & pitchforks... so I wonder why wine is so much better-handled.?!?! I think they usually roll in late. A couple of times I've wanted one that never showed up. Usually I'm not as intent on chasing them down as I would be with beer, so I give up when they don't show up on schedule.Belgian wrote:Sure, could just be me - but are you talking late-shows or NO-shows? Do they say they are going to release a wine and then dont & just pretend they never heard of it?
I just see these promos for wines in the magazines and web-pages, and I have never NOT found something OR had any lack of knowledgeable support.
