Can anyone explain to me why there is such a stigma amongst non-craft/real beer drinkers about after-tastes? Why are they perceived as such a bad thing? Why would anyone claim that a wheat beer doesn't have one? Unless you're drinking liquid nitrogen, which I wouldn't recommend, doesn't every edible substance on the face of the Earth have SOME sort of aftertaste? If you're putting any sort of organic/semi-organic carbon-based material in your mouth and chewing, it's inevitable that there will be bits left in your mouth after the swallow, that have to taste like something. Right?"Especially popular in Western Canada, wheat beers are easy to drink with almost zero aftertaste."
My guess is that when people complain about the "after-taste", they're really complaining about the specific after-taste that crappy macro-lagers have. Maybe if that taste is missing, then they think there's "no after-taste".JesseM wrote:Can anyone explain to me why there is such a stigma amongst non-craft/real beer drinkers about after-tastes?"Especially popular in Western Canada, wheat beers are easy to drink with almost zero aftertaste."
