Strikes are on a rotating basis, so things will get through... juat add a week or so and put tracking on everything. For locations on strike add about 10 days

ha! no kidding. nevermind the fact snail mail is a declining industry and they want MORE money...
1) Parts of the mail industry are in decline (lettermail). Others are holding strong (parcels and direct mail).

2) More money isn't the true issue behind the strike - it's the restructuring of sick leave, which can currently be banked ad infinitum, as well as the fact that the corp wants to pay new hires a lower starting wage ($19 per hour).

3) I've yet to have an issue with Canada Post, but have had problems with UPS and Fedex.

4) Kinguy - Canada Post owns 91% of Purolator.

5) I've read a LOT of articles that say we can do without the mail, but I'd miss it if it went - ecards don't do it for me, and physical things that are ordered online still need to be delivered until star trek technology becomes reality.

6) I understand that CPC is better integrated with USPS than the other carriers, though I've never mailed a package to the States.

7) Unions do not always reflect the view of their membership, just as governments do not always reflect the views of their populace.

And now they're locked out...

Hopefully nobody has beer sitting in never-never land (or anything else that's seriously important).

I guess I should set up a few more e-bills.

Tories are stepping in and have given them a 48 hour window to get a deal or they will be legislated back to work. So the delay won't be too long. Mail will probably start flowing again next week.

What a PITA. My 2 corny kegs are sitting at a post-office. Doesn't Canada Post know, I have 10 gallons of beer waiting to be kegged?
