The cask serving was beautiful. I can't compare it to the keg version, but there was HELLA aroma in there. I'd love to try the tap version, so hopefully this gets made again (wink, wink). Felt super nerdy, but our conversation kept getting interrupted with each sip for one of us to make some sort of exclamation about the aroma or flavour. So good.grub wrote:nice! how'd you like it on cask? hold up pretty well? i'd think the lower carb would generally mean less aromatic, but "less aromatic" in this case is still going to be pretty hoppy.velovampire wrote:Yes, it was on cask at the Rhino last night, and it was GD amazing. We had six pints between the two of us. The bar equivalent of hoarding? Also of note on tap at the 'No: Beau's Mango Saison, GLB Anniversary Porter, GLB/Amsterdam Farmhouse Saison, plus the usual suspects.
As much as I love the big beers, I'd certainly welcome more Ontario brewers starting to experiment with fully flavoured and aromatized sub 5% ABV session ales. Hoppy bitters, milds, XPAs, whatever. I know they're being done (House Ales, GLB, and to a lesser - or I guess,in a more traditional sense - Granite, Grand River), but that'd be cool if that was the next trend.
